Q:What type of martial arts do Premier Martial Arts owners teach?
A:Premier Martial Arts specializes in teaching karate, krav maga, kickboxing, and jiu-jitsu for children ages 3-15 and adults of all ages. While our instructors are highly trained and certified to provide a best-in-class martial arts experience, our curriculum also focuses on important personal development. Our instructors focus as much on character development and discipline as they do on martial arts, which makes us highly popular with parents.

Q:How do I make money?
A:Our typical 1,200- to 1,600-square-foot school model can accommodate between 160 and 360 students. Franchisees sign up students who pay a membership fee and a monthly fee for 1 – 2 classes a week. In addition to membership income, franchisees sell upgraded training programs that allow students to add different levels and kinds of training to their experience with the goal of becoming a black belt, a process that takes three to four years of study. We also sell gear and merchandise, offer seminars, self-defense classes, private lessons, and special events and martial arts-themed birthday parties.
-
Q:How large of a space do I need?
A:Our franchise model is designed to be smaller than a typical martial arts school, so you can maximize your investment and resources. We find that locations with 1,200 to 1,600 square feet generate similar income to larger stores and are easier to manage and less expensive to staff.
-
Q:Do I have to have martial arts teaching experience?
A:We believe that a passion for helping other people is all that is needed for all our owners. Prior martial arts teaching experience is not necessary. As a franchise owner, you’ll recruit talented instructors in your area to teach your classes, which frees you to manage and grow your business. We offer very structured, step-by-step systems to help you build a successful business. If you are an experienced martial artist or have the passion to learn martial arts, we have systems to help you be the lead instructor in your organization. -
Q:How many employees do I need?
A:The number of employees you’ll need is based on the size of your location, the hours you set, and the number of students you sign up. In the beginning, it is potentially possible to run a profitable business with yourself and one full-time employee. This staffer is usually a martial arts instructor.
-
Q:What age groups do we teach?
A:At Premier Martial Arts, we offer curriculum and classes for students aged 3 and up. While the majority of our students are children ages 4 – 16, we offer programs for almost all age groups. For adults, we offer evening classes that focus on our core curriculum, black belt training, self-defense, and specific weapons classes.
-
Q:What are the general hours for a location?
A:We recommend that you start out open four days a week, usually Monday-Friday. Our classes generally start at 3:30 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. on weekdays and last until 9 p.m. We are not normally open on weekends, making this a great business for work-life balance.

A:Martial arts has never been more popular than it is today. Younger generations are seeking out martial arts as more than a hobby; they are looking to develop personal skills, and organized martial arts schools are struggling to meet demand. Premier Martial Arts is positioning itself to be the leading martial arts franchise brand in the United States, and now is an excellent time to become a school owner.
